50 Raw in Specialist
Hi, I am Ryan Ahl, and I graduated from year 12 in 2021. With my final year at high school being in the midst of the pandemic, we had to battle through an online environment with restricted social interactions and ever-present digital challenges. I always felt that Dec 16th, 2021 – results day – was the day that would show how well I adapted, if my study strategy worked and if my approach to academics was effective.
I ended up achieving a 99.95 ATAR with raw 50’s in Specialist Maths, Maths Methods and Economics. My lowest scaled score was a 48. I also scored a 3350 in the UCAT. I finished 2021 as a prefect, house captain and entrant into the Biology Olympiad summer School
Over 2020 and 2021 I have forged my own blueprint that focuses on strategies and approaches I used in my VCE subjects. Strategies that maximise the probability of any student performing at the highest level.
The final years of high school is the time to perform at your very best. I hope I can work with you and share the tips and tricks I accrued to end up at the top of the honour role.

Lecture 1: Your year + absolute values.
What does it take to do better than everyone else in the harder mathematics subjects? What should you be doing throughout the year and just before SACs?
Explaining why absolute values are used and coverings one challenging questions related to graphing with them.
Going over common mistakes when solving inequalities and quick methods to check you are correct.
Rational functions
Graphing functions is something that is less difficult than other parts of the course, yet often less than 30% of the Specialist Maths cohort, some of the brightest students, get full marks on these questions. I will be pointing out the common things examiners look for to deduct marks and how to always have good graphs
I will cover multiple different methods to find these points and their nature.
Often problems that seem impossibly hard can be solved easily if there is some symmetry. I will cover some symmetry that can solve certain challenging questions s well as quick chess if your answer is correct.
