Hey, I’m Michelle, and I graduated from Year 12 in 2019 with a 99.55 ATAR and a 50 in English Language. Like many others, I had no idea what 2019 had in store for me, however I had one goal in mind. All I wanted to do was to give this year my very best, hoping that I would be a blessing to reflect on my results with satisfaction and pride.
Having been through this myself, I am now ready to pass on my knowledge and support to you through your final year at school.

It is important to make sure that you have a good plan on how you will approach your year in English Language to maximise your marks and improve your skills- this makes a massive difference for your end result.
I’ll share with you some tips and advice on things that I wish I knew at the start of the year, and what mistakes not to make so you can be more efficient with your time.

Lecture 2: Metalanguage
Metalanguge is arguably the most important tool that you can have to succeed in English Language. Knowing how and when to use metalanguage can help to impress examiners and boost marks.
I will help you understand what each metalanguage term means, and how to identify them in the texts you are analysing.
I will show you how to best integrate metalanguage into your writing and provide some tips that I found helpful to reduce the ‘clunkiness’ and make the integration appear more natural and flowing
